Big spot with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and service was fairly quick. We loved everything we had here! To share, we got the hot crab dip and the lobster mac. The lobster mac and cheese was out of this world - a must try! For mains we got the lobster crunch wrap, Connecticut lobster roll, and caesar salad with chicken. Everything was delicious, but the lobster roll was a standout. The arnold palmer was truly one of the best I have had. I highly recommend it to accompany such a savory meal - it was the perfect pairing. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Overall: Red Hook Lobster Pound has become a staple any time we visit Red Hook. My girlfriend grew up in Maine and is quite particular about her lobster. This is the only place outside of New England that I've convinced her to try. The venue is fun. They have lots of seating so they manage to get a ton of people through and minimize wait times. Its a well run restaurant with great food in a popular spot. We'll be back! Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Service: 4 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Food: We each got the Connecticut style lobster roll. The rolls were stuffed full and the lobster was tender and fresh. The fries were warm and crispy and complimented the roll well. Drinks: We each got the Maine Lunch beer. Their beer selection was relatively expansive given the style of restaurant, and we were happy with our choice. Service: Our server was prompt and attentive. He didn't add anything particularly special, but he took our orders quickly, kept our drinks full, and checked in a few times. He checked all the boxes, but didn't do anything over the top. Value: The lobster rolls are good but pricey. They are served as either 4oz or 6oz. For Connecticut style, these were priced at $32/$42. They're filled nicely, but $42 is a lot even for a 6oz lobster roll. Atmosphere: This place is a fantastic place to pop into for lunch. Everything is lobster/marine/Maine themed. The indoor area is spacious and they have a ton of outdoor seating options.

The lobster pound is a beloved staple of Van Brunt street in red hook and it's easy to see why. Its decor and energy easily matches the port side energy of this former dockyard. Inside they have two gender neutral bathrooms but if they are busy be prepared to wait a bit to use them. When we arrived we were immediately seated outside (per our request) despite it being peak lunch service on a holiday weekend in summer and we did not have a reservation. They beautifully decorated both the inside and outside with fresh florals and nautical decor. My partner and I both ordered a round of beers, a lobster roll each and I had a bowl of their lobster bisque soup. Everything was delicious, but there was some room for improvement. Portions were as expected and the food was fresh. The lobster rolls were stacked high with lobster and we both liked that they offered a variety of preparation options for the rolls. My partner ordered the BLT roll with 6oz lobster and I ordered the Connecticut roll with 4oz lobster. The portion size difference between the two is pretty substantial but then again so was the pricing. My only critique of the rolls was that the Connecticut roll was supposed to be served warm and poached in butter. It arrived barely warm and there was no melted butter on the side or no visible drizzle ontop. I would've liked to have had that. The lobster bisque was also a let down in my opinion. I am a HUGE lobster bisque fan and consider it a real treat when I get to order it. When paying nearly $9 for a bowl of soup, I would expect to get a few small chunks of lobster throughout, or as decoration on top at minimum. Especially considering that this is a lobster-driven establishment. I also was not offered any fresh pepper for garnish or even given a pepper packet. I enjoy my bisque with some fresh pepper so that was also disappointing. It also tasted slightly off, overall certainly not a top tier bisque. I expected more here. If you come here, expect to spend around $50 per person- this is not for a bargain date! It is a pricey establishment and they are certainly not giving anything away. If you're looking for a deal, I would advise visiting during their weekly happy hours for $1 oysters and some drink specials. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend this establishment for the quintessential summer lunch or dinner.

The service was very good & the waiter was friendly. The inside of the restaurant was very casual & had the old Brooklyn feeling. Ordered the Maine Lobster roll with sweet potato fries. They were both delicious & freshly made.

It serves exactly what you want, good lobster rolls with a decent amount of lobster and different preparations. The Caesar salad was better than I expected too. Worth the visit to red hood for sure!

I LOVE Red Hook Lobster (RHL). I live in the DC area and first tried it here, but unfortunately the pandemic hit them hard and resulted in a closure. So, imagine my excitement when the hubby and I visited NY and saw RHL on the list for Smorgasburg. We visited RHL's food stall at Smorgasburg on 5/26/2024. I was laser focused on what I wanted upon arrival, yes, I saw there were other restaurants there, but did I care? No. I wanted RHL and basically nothing else! I ordered the Connecticut roll - it was warm, buttery, with toasty bread and I almost fell down because my knees were weak. I freaking love this roll. After consuming it, I said, hmm, I want more and went back and got the Maine style lobster roll, which is the cold style. Both of these rolls were perfect, but my preference is certainly the Connecticut roll. My complaints, well the normal ones, I wish the rolls were double the size and half the price, but 2024 has lobster costing a million dollars a pound, so I get it.

Maine Lobster Roll is the name of the game at RHLP. Firm, fresh and perfectly chilled. Must get the 6oz because why not. Beautiful menu overall complimented with a variety of cocktails and wines. Super vibes and staff is equally chill.
